Matilda runs the Research Base and is its Research Director. She is an established research, communications and policy professional. Her projects at the Research Base have encompassed a range of activities, from qualitative research with journalists and policy makers to research on the role of the private sector in Indian education.
Matilda has directed major international research projects, including Skills Development: Attitudes & Perceptions while at City & Guilds Centre for Skills Development, which analysed the views of over 2,000 employers, researchers, skills professionals and policy makers across 9 different countries.
She previously worked as a freelance consultant in research, policy and campaigns for various clients, including the John Clare Trust and the Refugee Council. She also set up the National Skills Forum and Associate Parliamentary Skills Group, where she worked with Ministers, employers and other stakeholders on policy development. She has additionally worked as a Parliamentary Advisor.
Before working in research and policy, Matilda set up an English programme for a social and medical development charity in India.
