Juan Raman Mullor, Researcher
Juan is a researcher who joined The Research Base in 2021 from the third sector. He has seven years’ experience working in education research and practice in the UK, South Korea and Nepal. Juan most recently co-ordinated an education programme for a Nepal-based international NGO delivering research and training that informs programme strategy and curriculum development.
Juan’s work in Nepal included the development of a bespoke Learning Lab programme and physical space to support students with learning difficulties. He facilitated the implementation of annual baseline assessments evaluating reading levels in English and Nepali. He also supervised the development of a robust distance learning and blended learning programme ensuring local teachers and practitioners were able to maintain critical academic engagement for their students amid the Covid-19 pandemic. He also has several years' experience working as an English teacher and SEND learning assistant.
Juan is a capable linguist fluent in Spanish, intermediate in French and with a working knowledge of Korean and Nepali. He holds a BA in English Literature and Spanish Studies and an MA in International Relations, for which he received a distinction and finished top of his cohort.

Juan has a strong interest in research that facilitates the development of inclusive education, place-based learning and sustainability in education and employment. He also has a passion for understanding current and historic global inequalities.
