Loui Marchant, Research Assistant
Loui is an early career research assistant with considerable experience in qualitative social research. She has an MA in International Relations from the University of St Andrews and an MsC in Gender, Development and Globalisation from the London School of Economics. Her undergraduate thesis, which focused on creating a framework for analysis of internet memes as security acts, was published in a peer-reviewed academic journal.
Since joining The Research Base, Loui has conducted qualitative and quantitative analysis as well as contributing to research framework and report development on projects for a number of clients including City & Guilds, the Equality & Justice Alliance and the British Council.
Before joining The Research Base, Loui gained insight into policy development and stakeholder engagement during her time as a British Parliamentary Intern. As a member of the European Youth Parliament, she organised and participated in forums on European policy. She has also interned with a number of development charities, undertaking tasks including legal aid support, workshop planning and facilitation, assisting with community integration programmes and producing in-depth research on refugee integration programmes in the UK.
